Saint and I were closer than ever. So far he made good on his promise and treated me like the Queen I was. Every nigga at school wanted me and every bitch wanted to be me. Luckily for them I wasnât there much these days. I had never been a fan of school anyway but now I had a reason not to go. I wanted to spend every second of the day with Saint and being that he worked in the evening and his mornings were free thatâs where I was.
Today I needed to go to school just to check in. I missed the last four days and five in a row your name automatically got flagged. Raylin worked in the office last year and learned that trick. Who knew her job would help me avoid my mom finding out I wasnât attending school. The sad part is she hadnât even noticed that I wasnât around much. It didnât matter to me though. I was where I wanted to be and that was with Saint.
âIâll see you later baby girl.â
âOkay, thanks for dropping me off.â
âAnything for you.â
âAre you picking me up?â
âOf course,â he smiled exposing those perfect pearly while teeth.
âSee you later,â I said leaning in for a kiss before I stepped out of his car and strutted inside.
I had this nigga wrapped around my finger. It was literally like taking candy from a baby the way he worshipped the ground I walked on. He had even upgraded my wardrobe and dropped stacks on the chain around my neck with the diamond encrusted âSâ hanging from it. It was his way of letting any and everybody know I belonged to him.
âHey Ray,â I sang walking up to the locker we shared since ninth grade.
âDonât hey Ray me. What happened to you yesterday?â She asked not hiding the attitude in her voice.
âWhat do you mean?â
âYou donât even remember. You promised you would go to the mall with me. I needed to find a dress for Tristanâs birthday dinner.â
âIâm so sorry! Saint wanted to take me shopping and I couldnât tell him no.â
âSo instead you stand up your best friend? Silly me, for not understanding heâs more important.â
âWhy are you acting like a brat?â
âItâs the principle of the situation Kapri which you clearly donât understand.â
âNo youâre just being dramatic as fuck! Itâs not that damn serious, we can go to the mall today.â
âDonât worry about it. Yasmine went with me, I donât need you.â
âWhatever Raylin, I donât have time for your shit.â
âYou donât have time for anything that doesnât revolve around Saint.â Slamming the door shut, she walked away but I wasnât about to chase her.
Raylin had a tendency to be dramatic. Anything that went against her core beliefs were wrong. She didnât agree with my relationship because Saint was twenty three years old but I didnât want or need her approval. Saint and I were happy, if she couldnât understand that was she ever really my friend?
Suffering through the school day, I had never been happier to hear the bell ring.
