Saint and I were closer than ever. So far he made good on his promise and treated me like the Queen I was. Every nigga at school wanted me and every bitch wanted to be me. Luckily for them I wasn’t there much these days. I had never been a fan of school anyway but now I had a reason not to go. I wanted to spend every second of the day with Saint and being that he worked in the evening and his mornings were free that’s where I was.

Today I needed to go to school just to check in. I missed the last four days and five in a row your name automatically got flagged. Raylin worked in the office last year and learned that trick. Who knew her job would help me avoid my mom finding out I wasn’t attending school. The sad part is she hadn’t even noticed that I wasn’t around much. It didn’t matter to me though. I was where I wanted to be and that was with Saint.

“I’ll see you later baby girl.”

“Okay, thanks for dropping me off.”

“Anything for you.”

“Are you picking me up?”

“Of course,” he smiled exposing those perfect pearly while teeth.

“See you later,” I said leaning in for a kiss before I stepped out of his car and strutted inside.

I had this nigga wrapped around my finger. It was literally like taking candy from a baby the way he worshipped the ground I walked on. He had even upgraded my wardrobe and dropped stacks on the chain around my neck with the diamond encrusted ‘S’ hanging from it. It was his way of letting any and everybody know I belonged to him.

“Hey Ray,” I sang walking up to the locker we shared since ninth grade.

“Don’t hey Ray me. What happened to you yesterday?” She asked not hiding the attitude in her voice.

“What do you mean?”

“You don’t even remember. You promised you would go to the mall with me. I needed to find a dress for Tristan’s birthday dinner.”

“I’m so sorry! Saint wanted to take me shopping and I couldn’t tell him no.”

“So instead you stand up your best friend? Silly me, for not understanding he’s more important.”

“Why are you acting like a brat?”

“It’s the principle of the situation Kapri which you clearly don’t understand.”

“No you’re just being dramatic as fuck! It’s not that damn serious, we can go to the mall today.”

“Don’t worry about it. Yasmine went with me, I don’t need you.”

“Whatever Raylin, I don’t have time for your shit.”

“You don’t have time for anything that doesn’t revolve around Saint.” Slamming the door shut, she walked away but I wasn’t about to chase her.

Raylin had a tendency to be dramatic. Anything that went against her core beliefs were wrong. She didn’t agree with my relationship because Saint was twenty three years old but I didn’t want or need her approval. Saint and I were happy, if she couldn’t understand that was she ever really my friend?

Suffering through the school day, I had never been happier to hear the bell ring.
